Thanks, Bram! That’s a great question. I didn’t discuss this too much with Daron, but I will say that you should see if there’s a way to combine some of those interests. I’m not saying cram them together irrespective of fit; rather, see if there are some genuine synergies there. For example, if you enjoy learning about disruptive technologies, sports, and media, see if there is a logical way to combine them.
But that said, there is something to be said about focus. At least for me, many of the uber-successful role models I have were laser-focused on some goal. They accepted the opportunity costs and aggressively pursued that goal—notwithstanding other shiny objects on their path. Clearly, success is not guaranteed if you follow this model, but I think it does improve your chances.
