I’m starting to use the term Hybrid Designer in teaching to describe output agnostic approaches to design solutions, however if I had the guts I’d just use designer. I go further and suggest that in fact the terms “digital design” and “web designer” are or should become obsolete, as the emerging role of the designer is to create connected experiences that transcend media. Shifts in teaching away from the terms digital and web allow pedagogy that focuses on creating compelling communication.
