The farm was first started in 1935 by Ralph Joseph Adams by growing hay and small grains in the Buxton, North Dakota area. After a while, he moved to the Grand Forks and continued the farming but this time added sugar beet, hay, small grains. Later on, his son Darrell joined the farming and expand the farms from a few hundred acres to 4000 acres. Darrell added the soybeans, edible beans to the profile of the farms.

After that, the son of Darrell, Steve Adams joined the family farm and expand the farms. He also added pinto, navy, red kidney, cranberry beans to the farms’ profile.
