I’m surprised by this as well. But can we blame Hollywood/the Indie market? It seems the real problem is that — despite having a phone, laptop and free software — very few people are actually making films. Most people still seem to prefer playing the ‘lottery’ as Laura put it. Maybe we need to readjust our ideas of what a film is, or invent a new form of narrative that fits the YouTube world better?
