It’s called a Republic! Article 4 of the constitution guarantees every state a Republican form of government so yes, let people vote with their dollars and their feet. If North Dakota wants to enjoy the economic boom resulting from unfettered production and consumption of fossil fuels they should not be hostage to EPA mandates. If California wants to encourage alternative energy production with $10/gallon gasoline (shouldn’t those people be riding the BART?) let the games begin.

Unfortunately, if a conservative is a vegetarian they don’t eat meat, if a liberal is they want meat products banned. The supreme court is suggesting the unelected apparatchiks at the EPA have wildly overstepped their authority with the Clean Power Plan and at least this time are refusing to allow them to inflict tens of billions of dollars in compliance costs on our vital energy sector before the matter is settled.
