Excellent points, Amlan. I think the challenge for many is actually taking that step back to look at oneself, especially those faced with alcohol just being a part of everyday life from a very young age (ie — family, friends during formative years, etc.)
We all have our own reasons for doing what we do and what I’ve really worked to become more mindful of is the fact that I really have no idea what it’s like to be the person I’m judging. I don’t know what their upbringing was like, how they deal with pain or the self talk they give themselves every day. That’s why I’m really excited about The No Alcohol Project. I want to really meet people where they are and serve them the best I can based on the unique needs they have. It’s going to be a lot of fun :).
