Advantages and disadvantages of fabric structures
Pro #1 While tense structures offer great opportunities for covered areas, there are of course other construction methods to reach a covered outdoor area.
Pro #2 One of the biggest benefits of tensile fabric structures is that they are transparent. The weave coat combined with the appropriate coating allows a lot of 10% light. This provides a very comfortable level of illumination compared to the full brightness from outside.
Pro #3 The other factor that clearly puts fabric in front of other materials, is its clear broad capacity. Since all other possible roofing materials require rigorous intermediate support, fabric can extend from one edge to the opposite side in one unbroken sweep. The advantages of this are that there are no unclear or difficult stamp details that must be addressed.
Pro #4 Fabrics lead to much more lightweight structure than other types of construction.
Pro #5 Cost-based fabrics, funds are much easier and cheaper than disposable, overhead buildings, which are open to weather and damage.
Pro #6 The 3D nature of most canopy structures is quite unique as a construction form, so it quickly forms a point of view.
Pro #7 Coated fabrics have very good UV-absorbent and reflective properties. This means it offers a safe shadow to all users, although it provides very comfortable light levels.
Pro #8 Often omitted advantage of fabric structures is that all manufactures take place outside of a place, in special membrane manufacturing units and in steel workshops. When the membrane, the fabric, the cables and all other associated parts are complete and taken to the site, the real web can be completed very quickly and with little interruption to other businesses or public.
Pro #9 The building architecture fabric facade is screens used in the exterior of the building, it is a relatively new style of fabric. However, improved technology, long-term materials, and the most necessary need to reduce the amount of energy consumed by buildings, makes the idea of fabric facades on the outside building grow up.
Pro #10 Fast Application, and Modern Design Approach. Implementation time can be from a few hours to a day, depending on the complexity of the site.
Pro #11 All roofing materials will, of course, collect dirt and rubbing on the surface, whether glass, polycarbonate, fabric or opaque material. With glass or polycarbonate, the dirt can be clearly seen, however, the light differential properties of the fabric mean that the surface is not easy to identify. It’s quite wonderful, how good a membrane can look from below, and then, when you are actually looking at the top surface, you will find that there is enough dirt.
