“I can’t breathe” was the phrase that sparked the Black Lives Matter movement in 2014 when a Black man was choked on the cement ground by a White police officer in Staten Island, New York. As we are approaching Eric Garner’s sixth death anniversary, the same exact phrase has sparked the movement once again, but with much more aggression and anger. Has anything changed over the past six years? Did anything become better…
