Mushroom in a small hole in the rock

Hello Everyone!

Today i have prepared a curious photo. I found this mushroom hidden in a small hole in a rock when i was walking through the Xanas route in Asturias, Spain.

I took this photo using a Tamron 70–200 using its longest focal length in order to have the mushroom in first plane and also a big blur effect around it.

At first, I thought it was a good idea as this makes the eye go directly to the main part of the photo, but there was a huge are around it which didn’t contribute a lot to the photo. It has taken a long time to crop it as i didn’t like any option using the original aspect ratio for it. I also tried using a square cropping but with it i completely lose the blur effect, so finally testing i found that using this kind of panoramic aspect ratio it looked more or less as i wanted.

The blur effect and the lines of the rock leads your eyes to the mushroom, which is still on the right third of the photo. Also the lines of the rock almost coincide with the top/bottom third lines, making the photo look equilibrated. The rest of the editing wasn’t too much work, just adding some contrast and saturation, dark a bit the lighty parts and enlight the darkest ones.
