Jet Blue offers low fares through an a la carte model. Some airlines allow free carry-on or checked bags, Jet Blue’s base fares allow you to add these benefits to your award.

Each passenger has the right to bring personal items on board; These are small purses or backpacks that 1–716–791–9668 easily fit under the seat in front of you. If you are not a Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Extra or Mosaic airline member, there is a charge for carrying other bags.

Jet Blue differs from other airlines in that Blue Basic passengers who bring a carry-on bag to the gate must check the bag and pay a checked bag fee. These fees are $65 per bag for the first two bags and $180 for the third bag, unless you have purchased this service in advance.Of course, there are some exceptions to this rule.

Jet Blue is committed to providing excellent service to those who serve our country. To give back, they have some advantages in the active military:

  • All active duty military personnel (and their dependents) traveling off duty receive up to two free checked bags each (up to £50).
  • All active military personnel (and their families) can take up to five free checked bags (up to £99).
  • In addition to the revised baggage policy, active duty military members receive a 5% discount off their base fare.

To receive these benefits, a travel order and a joint boarding card are required.

Jet Blue Baggage Fees

If you don’t qualify for military discounts, you can still travel cheaply with checked baggage if you plan ahead. The above prices are what you will pay at the airport if your prices do not include the amount of checked baggage.

Jet Blue’s baggage fees are split between domestic (including the Caribbean and Latin America) and international travel (to the UK and Europe).On a domestic flight, Jet Blue’s baggage check-in fee is only $35 subject to the size and weight requirements listed below. A second bag costs $45; the third bag costs $150. Get a discount on your first two bags if you pay the baggage fee in advance.

JET BLUE CARRY-ON BAG SIZE

Regardless of whether you can continue to travel within your ticket category, frequent flyer benefits or pay a fee, all carry-on bags must meet Jet Blue’s carry-on size limit.

These restrictions are not arbitrary or intended to make life difficult. They are based on how big the bins are on the plane.

Jet Blue luggage dimensions, including wheels and handles, cannot exceed 22 x 14 x 9 — that’s 22 inches long, 14 inches wide and 9 inches deep. They meet the standard size limits of most domestic airlines.

JET BLUE CARRY-ON WEIGHT LIMIT

Airlines limit the size of your hand luggage so that it fits easily in the overhead compartment and still leaves plenty of room for other passengers’ luggage. Most international airlines also limit the weight of your hand luggage.

The weight limit helps ensure 1–716–791–9668 that the aircraft is balanced and it is easy to estimate what the final take-off weight will be when the aircraft is full. International flights have carry-on weight limits of less than 15 pounds and up to 50 pounds.

There is no weight limit for personal items under the seat. but it must not exceed 17 x 13 x 8 — that is 17 inches long, 13 inches wide and 8 inches high.

INFANTS AND JET BLUE CARRY-ON POLICY

Traveling is one of the best ways to expose children to the wonders of the world. Of course, kids have a lot of baggage… literally.

Jet Blue’s infant baggage policies are in line with other major airlines, briefly summarized here:

  • Children under 2 can sit on their parents’ laps.
  • In addition to personal belongings and hand luggage, diapers are allowed.
  • Breast pumps are considered aids and do not count as carry-on.
  • Car kits and strollers can be seen for free.

Children under the age of two can fly for free if they are seated on a lap. However, if they reserve a seat, you must purchase your own ticket for them. The amount of personal belongings and their storage space is limited to the number of seats 1–716–791–9668 purchased.

MEDICAL ASSISTIVE DEVICES AND SERVICE ANIMALS

Jet Blue’s carry-on policy has exceptions for medical equipment and service animals. These devices do not count as personal effects or carry-on baggage, but must meet the size and weight guidelines. Therefore, it may be necessary to check any equipment that exceeds the carried size or weight limit.

Medical assistive items include:

  • Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Machines (CPAP)
  • Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP)
  • Breast Pumps
  • Catheter
  • Hearing Aids

  • Ventilators

Jet Blue only allows the use of trained service dogs. The airline must be notified at the time of booking and official documents must be presented upon arrival of the animal.

If the dog is too large to fit in the footprint of the purchased seat (without an aisle), an additional seat must be purchased. It is recommended that you contact the airline before booking 1–716–791–9668 your flight if you plan to travel with a service animal.
