GOAL V.S. PLAN

We sometimes confuse a goal for a plan. For example, "My plan this year isn't to read a lot of books because that's the goal"

A set of intended actions, usually mutually related, through which one expects to achieve a goal is called a plan.

One of the reasons you haven't been achieving your goals is because you do not have an active plan that will help you achieve them.

As goals can be broken into parts into daily goals, weekly goals, monthly goals, e.t.c. so also can a plan be framed that way. The truth is this, so many people won't achieve any of their set goals at the end of this year because they confused a goal for a plan and this is the reason someone will end up not getting employed after five years of schooling at the tertiary level, yet they will keep on blaming the government and the society for their own mishap. They knew they wanted a job but had no roadmap, design, blueprint or structure on how to reach point B, the goal, from their present location or state.

“Knowing the goal doesn't bring about the achievement of such a goal, its only a step to achieving such goals.” - Ademola Adeshino
