mediocrity and me
I’m Alessandro Amedeo De Rango, and I’m as gorgeous as my name is European. I play drums and regularly pretend that I know more about music than a student at a liberal arts college. Some of my favorite bands are Sonic Youth, Tool, and Ween. I collect records, Godzilla movies, and old polaroids. I’m deathly afraid of drowning and talking to pretty girls. I like to cook, pasta and pizza, because I’m a generic Italian.

My favorite song, pretty much since I’ve heard it, is When You Sleep by My Bloody Valentine. I don’t know how to describe it to me other than just passionate. It makes me feel sort of homesick.

This is me and my bouncing boy John Schultz at 9:00pm on Friday, as I retrieve a tasty beverage from a McDonald’s Soda fountain.

Steve Albini is one of my biggest, if not my biggest musical influences. With production ranging from classic albums like Nirvana’s “In Utero,” to obscure gems like Om’s “Pilgrimage,” Albini has been a leading name in redefining how noise is viewed in music.

This picture of John inspires me because I found it in my images and got a hearty chuckle out of it. I hope this sentiment is shared.

This blinged out Indian dude is up there, not only because of his fashion, but his unspoken confidence.

This cool picture of the singer-guitarist for Sludge-Metal artist BORIS pretty much represents what I want- A big yellow room with amps and an instrument I don’t play.

America is a hub for free thinkers, making it home to great thinkers, artists and those with drive.

Skepticism is an important part of American life, as without it we pretty much wouldn’t be a free-thinking country.

Pride is an important factor in American life, deciding everything from when we say the pledge to who we vote for.
