Rule number one

Pay attention

Always pay attention

Don’t rush

Be on the lookout for information

Eyes wide open

Ears wide open

Watch how the experienced ones go about their day

Learn from what they say and do

See how their words are crafted

See how they start and end their day

Pay attention

Be given to studying and learning

Don’t just veer off trying to do your own thing

Watch first

And then make your decisions with the tools you have

This is a not to myself

Could be of help to you too

You can do this!

The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously — Hubert Humphrey

We live in a world full of voices, competitive voices at different wavelengths, a very noisy world that is. One in which everyone and everything is, in fact, trying to say something. And it’s so easy to be a part of the flow. These days, it’s even easier to blend in more than ever! Many don’t give their lives a thought. They just ‘flow’ in a lifeless, unexciting cycle, one they call adulting! There is nothing extraordinary about their lives. …

Of all the liars in the world, the worst are often your own fears.

We live each day scorning those we consider immoral, those we consider unrepentantly evil, those we’ll just rather avoid all day, the dolts, thieves, liars, politicians etc. yet we embrace those little frenemies posing as friends; our fears!

We accommodate them daily, we see them as being beneficial to us, instinctive, there to protect us and prevent us from doing something really stupid. Or so we think! We allow them lurk around in our heads- those unreal bugs, thoughts, emotional triggers- so long they become real…

Life is a journey of questions, and a wrong question would likely give you a wrong answer.

— Awodeyi Ademola

Many more questions arise as I walk through life trying to make sense of the gaping void in my mind, and every other thing I seem to do to fill that gap just never does it. And as usual, my mind jumps in trying to help me figure out ways to answer them. Fulfilment seems so far and the more I try to go away from it the more difficult it feels. …

The woman is a human being, and when we despise the woman, we despise our humanity.

They asked why I didn’t do a post on international women’s day commemorating the woman.

Well, it’s because I have nothing to write.

Ok, not just that, but because there’s so much out there and many have an undertone of doing what everyone is doing. And, well, I like to stand out, because, stand out!

But seriously, though, there is so much on my mind. Most of the writeups I read on that beautiful day were more about the woman and her struggles. …

Every day may not be good but there is something good in every day

Worry creeps in on us most times unannounced. It is the face of many unfulfilled dreams, unachieved goals and worst of all the other human uncertainty factor. We just aren’t sure of how tomorrow would turn out! These are things that taint our minds and as a result colours the way we approach our lives. But we forget the power we have over the future just by our lives being broken down into packets of time; that is, what you call your future is just a…

As true as “Garbage in garbage out” is so also is the reverse; Value in, value out!

You must have heard this quite a zillion times; ‘Greatness is in everyone’, and I’m sure you also would have known by now that not everyone gets to understand what greatness means for them or even releases that ‘greatness’ from within them. One reason for this, I believe, is that tendency to be trapped in a routine, once you get to a particular age, one which doesn’t allow you develop your mind and also does not bring out what you have but rather…

People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.

-Zig Ziglar

Love is that warm feeling any human except maybe due to a disorder should be innately able to recognize or know when it’s shown them. …

“Life’s most pertinent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?”

-MLK Jr.

In our fast paced world, there’s this ‘I have to take care of myself’ trap we often fall into. Self help gurus also make this hole quite deeper for us. We can’t seem to stop being so engrossed with ourselves, with many already being borderline narcissistic! Little wonder they are dissatisfied with life even when they seem to have everything.

Social media hasn’t been of much help either. We are often carried away by people who seem to have it all, complete they are in…

Live in your hopes and not in your fears.

-Johnny Majors

The story is often told of a man who was so fearful his fear became a being. One who whispered to him day and night. This man could see fear physically as if it were a being-a living being! This man related with fear so much so he became crippled because of it. He allowed his now visible friend called fear control him so much so he became blind to the hustle and bustle of the real world he lived in and the opportunities these portend. He gave enough…
