I’m not sure that too many people in these parts understand first, just how close most of us are to poverty in this country, regardless of how rich we may appear to be at any point in time

I read this piece yesterday and given my exhausted state after the 151 fuel price and dollar saga, I simply couldn’t process it. So back to the issue, given the current state of the green bag, the implication is that my income has reduced by at least 54.75%. This is without factoring the inflation effects.
The Nigerian demonds wants to drag me into poverty.
For the sake of discussion lets say I earn a 150,000 monthly previously that would have resulted in a $828.73 monthly but at the new regime of 400 per dollar that’s about $375 monthly.
Poverty is really moving into the neighborhood. Please whats the way out? I see lots of asylum seekers …
