The Self Obsessed Me

Your creative identity can also impersonate the behavior.

When you pause for a minute to tune in and consider it, you have a dream of what your creative caricature, looks like..

Is it strong, tough and super hero-esque? Let’s not forget silly, giggly and fiendish.

The biggest hurdle in this exercise is moving past whether you feel you are creative or not. So, let’s start from a place of feeling like you already know and believe yourself to be creative and have interesting skills you want to express.

This will help you begin to more closely identify with the creative part of yourself that wants to be a bigger part of your daily expression.

While doodling, I reflect on so many things which deal with emotions.

I practice doodling often to get more connected with my creative self, just to see if there any new aspects of my creative self that want to come out as a more prominent part of my self expression.

What made me work on this doodle project?

I got an opportunity to participate in this #ColorPaperProject which was initiated by TheDoodleTime.

TheDoodleTime, formed as a community for doodlers, artist, architects, and doodle writers to share their works online around the world. We focus only on those doodles which are hand drawn and have been strict on rules for submission, also conducting contest monthly to create a fun filled doodle session. We have started off with two handmade Eco-Friendly notebooks for our doodlers, going along with it taking custom orders of hand drawn doodled shoes, pumps, ballets and we are happy to see people are excited about it. Also hoping to have a good future for “TheDoodleTime” & Doodlers.

By most definitions, doodling refers to the unconscious or unfocused drawings made while otherwise preoccupied but to me, doodling is a purposeful action that more than mindlessness. And all doodlers have a few enjoyable patterns and images they return to again and again, just because they like them.

Doodling can be a self-regulating experience as well as a pleasurable road map of thoughts and ideas. It helps you focus at times when your mind could wander.

Doodling makes you more productive and also keeps you in the moment.

Taking 5 to 10 minutes with pencil and paper will help to calm the mind. It can even help during a stressful day, to help focus the mind on a project or situation. The creative expression is a worthy goal in and of itself.

Recent studies have shown that individuals who doodle during a meeting actually retain the information more than those who do not.

The next time you find yourself in a meeting and unable to focus, consider taking your pen to doodle for a little concentration boost.

Believe me, doodling can be calming, help center your mind, and it is very therapeutic for good mental health.

If you’re hungry for that youthful joy of doodling, it’s not too late.
Keep calm and doodle on.
