Lifelong learning

I’m a huge fan of lifelong learning and try to invest a considerable amount of time each day into learning new things. I largely do this for the intrinsic value I get out of it, which is just as well as pretty much every job I have ever gone for had no way of sharing any of the things I’ve learned each day.

Instead, each application asked for university courses that were both completed a long time ago and reflect but a tiny amount of my current knowledge. The same is largely the case for detailing ones professional history, with applications barely scratching the surface of what was attempted, achieved and failed at.

Until that changes, it’s hard to really see the concept of lifelong learning crossing the chasm and gaining mainstream approval.
