Web Design Conferences Feb-June 2018 — Our Take
As an agency, we are constantly in pursuit of keeping our knowledge of the industry and technology up to speed. A great way of doing this is by attending events and conferences and understanding how the shifts are happening within the Web Design and UI/UX paradigm. It also has afforded us the advantage of networking with peers and meetings with current clients or future prospects in a friendly atmosphere.
Every year we do a lot of internal analysis on which conferences and events to attend the objective pros and cons of attending a specific event. Keeping in mind our new name and branding exercise we have decided to make some of our information accessible to anyone out there looking for similar events.
Again what may be good for us may not be good for you so please do your due diligence on these before making a decision one way or another.
Here are the top 5 conference in this space for the next few months. We will come up with an updated list sometime in Spring.

The annual gathering of UX’ers in the Pacific Northwest. The Emerald City is bursting at the seams with all the high-tech development. Companies big and small are opening offices here and the user experience scene is exploding. If you haven’t been to Seattle before, this is a great time to get introduced. It might rain a bit, but the temperatures are always mild. ConveyUX is a great opportunity for locals and visitors to get together and enjoy Seattle while we hash about UX.
Our take on why to attend this event
- Great Location — Seattle is a great city to be in and network with technology professionals
- Sessions are paced out and the lines are not that bad
- More practitioners and fewer product vendors

Come and hear talks about the wide variety of web and UX topics and its community so you can build better applications for more platforms, devices, and humans. Yes — the web and its UX is definitely a great place to be in.

- Great line up of speakers and sessions which are core to our business
- Great ticket prices even for the late deciders

WordTechCon is a new premium conference that will allow WordPress Theme and Plugin Developers as well as hosting services to learn from industry leaders at a relaxed pace in a wonderful location. It primarily talks about 3 things which we at “A Digital Agency” use a lot which are Wordpress Themes, Plugins and Hosting Solutions. Areas we discuss about a day in and day out would always be helpful to get an industry pulse.
Our take on why to attend this event — We are attending for the first time
- One day conference — Fits in our schedule as well reduces client impacts
- We don’t know of any other conference which singularly focusses on these 3 topics only. If they are we would be happy to hear
- Location — Toronto is quick plane hop from NYC and hence helped us pick this over another one in Europe

Our take on why to attend this event — We attended Boston version last year and loved it
- Focused Conference — On Design and Content and some sessions are really deep which helps smaller agencies like us
- Some of the best speakers we have seen who are still greatly vested in defining the future of these areas
- Location — We decided for the Seattle one over Boston just to see get a different perspective from new set of people

- SEO focus in 2018 Agenda — I really like the time spent on SEO on the agenda, when most folks are calling for the death of SEO I guess it’s not that dead after all.
