I recently enjoyed reading two books: Siddartha by Herman Hesse and Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Without spoiling the books for anyone that hasn’t read it yet, the almost-circular plot and journey in both books fascinated me. In both books, the lead character undertakes a journey to find something, only to eventually lead back to a place they already were.

This also reminds me of the quote that is attributed to Francis of Assisi: “What we are looking for is what is looking.”

This is exactly why silence and the now is sometimes so uncomfortable: we need to only be with ourselves for a moment. In that moment it is generally easier to seek for answers beyond is because the deeper introspection (which is probably just an acknowledgement and acceptance of this moment) comes with many truths; at least of some which we deem to be unfavourable.
