I started investing very young however, not mindfully. One of the financial advisors at the bank told me to buy mutual funds when I was 18 and I bought. They said, my money is just being wasted in my savings account. At 18, I think that was a smart decision. Many people I speak to now, still don’t have any investment plans! Which is scary!
But looking back, I didn’t understand anything my financial advisor was saying. They said, to buy, I bought. They told me to switch and I swtiched! But, now I know that mutual funds actually comes with high fees. These financial advisors are incentivised to sell you these funds because, they are making commision on it. You will notice, every new financial advisor will ask you to change or update or upgrade to a different fund. It puts the sale under their name. Minus the high fees, the only good point about mutual funds is that you are not managing it. …
Financial Plan Makes You Confident
Few years back, I could tell you that I was not as confident as I am today. This trying times of the pandamic, I am financially secured. That came with a good financial plan. I was never the one to over spend or indulge. Only spent on good quality items/products/service, even if it was expensive because, I knew it was a long term investment. I was never about short term gains.
However, most people look for the short term indulgement, excitement and gains. In my opinion, that gives you just the happiness for today. I hate how some people actually use mental issues and anxiety as an excuse to gaining these short term happiness. For example, I needed that shopping therapy and it made me happy for the time being. Yes, that is okay for time to time, but not always. …

Now that I am home and working from home, I have noticed I have the urge to buy more. Has that happen to you?
An article by Mark Beach, Forbes, “COVID-19 Pushes Up Internet Use 70% And Streaming More Than 12%, First Figures Reveal”, tells us exactly that. It refers to the change in our buying behavior during the pandamic. Some say, it’s because we are saving more due to not commuting, eating out, not meeting people, or CREB/Stimulus check. When we see extra money in our bank, we just want to spend it. Some say, it’s because we just have nothing to do, we have nothing else to occupy our time with so we are induldging by spending on materials.
What is it for you? I think for me it’s because, I spend time scrolling through social media to see what is trending in fashion and then all these ads pop up. I bought so many TikTok gadgets that supposedly “makes life easier” but, did I really need it?
However, I am over all very good with my money. I am looking to build wealth by education and investments. I want put away atleast 60% of my money investments after expenses. In order to do that, I have to constantly remind myself of my goals. Do I want to buy these new clothes that will not be of any use to me this year? Or should I just take the money and buy more Apple stocks/IShare ETFS. …
As you know I am trying different things before my birthday in 2 months. I am trying to do as much as I can, my birthday is just an excuse. In addition to my 9-5, because, let’s not forget I have to earn real money too.
I am trying to do all this as creating content kind of releases my stress and makes me feel good. It’s almost a feeling of giving back.

I don’t have the wedding Jitters just yet but I hear that’s one common trend of anxiety a couple face during their wedding. Ironic how a perfect wedding is not guaranteed but wedding anxiety is! It’s normal to get anxious since it’s a milestone in your life. However, the wedding anxieties takes small issue and enlarges the problems into madness. The couple start to question the relationship, they go into panic mode with organization of the planning and they also start magnifying every little thing. The worst is when the couple starts believing they are with the wrong partner. All of a sudden, you ask yourself was saying, “Yes” a mistake? …
First of all I don’t know how you all do it because a Long Distance Relationship (LDR — almost sounds like bad cholesterol LDL) is definitely not for me and I don’t recommend it to anyone else. But the people who have had success they know exactly what it means when I say you are great communicators! A long distance relationship will bring many hurdles and obstacles along the way. You will be missing key experiences and to compensate these obstacles you have to learn to be an excellent communicator.
I Know I key in fear of uncertainty a lot but not knowing what the future of the relationship is a major one in LDR. It’s hard getting to know a person in your own city, imagine someone living across the sea. So how do we solve this? No don’t write up a contract and make them PDF sign the document. Have a conversation about it. Be open! Let them know your expectations and find out where they want their life to be in the future. You should know if you want the same end goal. …
You want achieve a goal or many goals?! Then you would have to learn self-discipline. Despite many beliefs self-discipline can be learnt with training. Self-Discipline requires practice, patience and control of temptations. It’s a process of building specific habits. Once you mastered self-control you will get more done in less time with less effort. Sounds good?
Take self-discipline as a project. Before you start any project you have to define the purpose of the project. You have to ask yourself what is the end goal and why do you want to achieve this goal.
The main questions to answer thoroughly are as…
