Bodhi Linux.

The word “Bodhi” is derived from Sanskrit word which means “enlightment”.

Bodhi Linux was Developed by Bodhi Linux team, Jeff Hoogland, Joris “aeonius” van Dijk etc.

Bodhi Linux was 1st released on 26 March 2011.

Bodhi Linux is an free operating system software same as Puppy Linux.

Bodhi Linux is specially made for low specifications System or old System.

Bodhi Linux is based on Ubuntu that use Moksha window manager.

Bodhi Linux has very few applications to run due to low specification.

Bodhi Linux is basically used in shops and small household or for education purpose.

System Requirement.

1)Minimum:

·500mhz Processor.

·256mb Ram.

·5gb of drive space.

2)Recommended:

·1.0ghz Processor.

·512mb Ram.

·10gb of Drive Space.

Linux is based on two important elements.

1)Minimalism:

What does Minimalism really mean or does?

Main motive is to create a balance between command- line interface and kitchen sink (everything). Some default application are made for Bodhi OS.

1)ePad (text editor).

2)PCManFM (file manager).

3)ePhoto (Photo viewer).

4)Midori (web browser).

5)Terminology (terminal emulator).

6) eepDater (system updater).

Other application can be downloaded by user.

What is Moksha Guide?

Basically, Moksha is a Windows manager, but functionality of Moksha is found in majority in Bodhi Linux as it supports the low specification.

Targeted Audience

Main audience targeted is small shop keepers, who needs a System for keeps monthly record of money and taxes etc. Some people install latest Operating System on old system. Some company needs to perform low specification task so they need Bodhi and Puppy Linux.

1)Can’t perform heavier task.

7)Issues can’t be solved within limited time i.e. Due to open source software, issues can be solved by community if anyone has found solution.

Conclusion:

Bodhi Linux is a lightweight, small operating system mainly made for low specifications system and old system. It is based on Ubuntu which uses Moksha window manager. It has monolithic (Linux kernel) Kernel. It is an open source operating system and hence it is a freely available on internet to download.
