Today was my first venture into the village of Ransai, in Raigad district of Maharashtra. Ransai has a few hamlets, all atop a mountainous terrain. The road to the top starts from Kalhe, a village situated at the base. It is a tough 15 minute climb, but the view from the top more than makes up for it. The main purpose of the visit was to look for some sort of accommodation for me, when I eventually go there to stay, which we did. But the highlight of the visit would have to be listening to the sounds that come from the local school. There are very few things in life that give as much joy as that melodious incoherence. I could almost swear that time stood at a standstill at that moment.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
