Geoffrey Hinton — The Godfather of Deep Learning

A role model is an important thing to improve ourselves and to make ourselves growth. Role models will give you the best life lesson that you’ve ever learn. You need to choose the right role models that can help you to reach your goals.

My goals are having a master’s degree from a top-notch university in the world, working at big 4 tech companies, and inventing new technologies that change the world. And I think Geoffrey Hinton is the best role model for my goals.

Geoffrey Everest Hinton is a computer scientist. He had a Ph.D. degree from The University of Edinburgh, work at Google, and invent artificial neural networks algorithm which is the state-of-the-art algorithm for deep learning.

He is a leading figure in the deep learning community and is referred to by some as the “Godfather of Deep Learning”. His invention changes the direction of machine learning research and impacting many fields that use machine learning. For example, face recognition, object detection, and even self-driving car.

Hinton won a lot of notable honours and awards such as Turing Award, Knowledge Award, Honorary Doctorate, and much more.
