Treat it Like Day One
“When you think back, and you thought that you would never make it this far.
Then you take advantage of the luck you handed. Or the talent you been given.”
I count it as a truth that we’ve all been gifted something.
For some, it’s talent.
For others, it’s luck.
For many of us, it may be a combination of the two.
Regardless of what your gift is, what have you been doing with it lately?
If you’re like me, you’ve likely had days where you’ve taken the gift for granted. You know it there, it’s helped you do some good things, but you have days where you don’t move with the same excitement you had when you first discovered the gift.
For some, that’s not much of a problem.
But if you’re like me, those days are a bit of a shame.
You see, I know that where I am today is beyond anything I could have truly imagined growing up.
I’ve had the great fortune and luck of countless people who have sacrificed for me and poured into my life to build me up. I’ve had numerous situations and circumstances that have turned in my favor, through no doing of my own. All of these have created the space and opportunity for me to invest in myself, to discover my talents, and to turn those talents into real skills and advantage.
Knowing this, what right do I have to take my gifts for granted?
What right do you have to take your gifts for granted?
Every day is an opportunity to show your gratitude for your gifts. Each day should be like the first moment when you receive and open a gift that takes your breath away.
You owe it to yourself. You owe it to your creator. And you owe it to the world around you, waiting to be gifted through your giftedness.
“Treat my first like my last, and my last like my first, and my thirst is the same as when I came!”
