However, censorship is taboo so consider the idea that commentators should be educated on a personal level prior to being held accountable. It is the communities' responsibility to instill its norms and values into every individual and to educate them in the case of taboo. Accountability is necessary but censorship is not okay. Rock doesn’t beat rock, paper doesn’t beat paper and taboo does not beat taboo.

Saying, “That behavior isn’t allowed on our forum” isn’t “censorship”. Saying, “You’re not welcome in our community anymore because you’re an asshole who makes everyone else miserable” isn’t “censorship”. That’s just not what that word means.
