New Less Invasive Techniques Can Successfully Reverse Gingival Recession!!!
This patient presented with a 4 mm of gum recession and minimal, thin, remaining, attached gingiva. This condition leaves the area vulnerable to further tissue loss and recession.
The surgical technique I used to treat the recession was a VISTA (Vestibular Incision Subperioperiostal Tunnel Access) procedure, using a surgically created tunnel to thicken and coronally reposition the tissue.
Notice the excellent improvement of the recession, the reduction of the frenum pull and the thickening of the attached gingiva. Overall, there is a significant improvement in the mucogingival condition of the tooth and the prospects for long term survival have been favourably enhanced.
