Twitter Introduces Dual-Timeline View on Web

Twitter has recently announced that it is bringing its popular “For You” and “Following” dual-timeline view to the web. This feature has been available on the mobile app for some time and allows users to view a curated selection of tweets, known as the “For You” timeline, alongside their regular “Following” timeline.

The “For You” timeline is designed to show users tweets that they may be interested in, based on their activity on Twitter. This includes tweets from accounts that the user follows, as well as tweets from accounts that Twitter suggests the user may be interested in. The tweets are selected by Twitter’s algorithm, which takes into account a number of factors including the user’s past engagement with tweets, the accounts they follow, and their overall activity on the platform.

The “Following” timeline, on the other hand, shows tweets from accounts that the user follows in reverse chronological order. This is the traditional view of Twitter, and allows users to see the most recent tweets from accounts they follow.

The dual-timeline view has been popular among mobile users and is now being rolled out to the web. This means that users will be able to see both timelines side-by-side on desktop and laptop computers, making it easier to keep track of tweets from accounts they follow, as well as tweets that Twitter thinks they may be interested in.

To access the dual-timeline view on the web, users will need to go to their Twitter homepage and click on the “For You” tab.
