Vox pops aren’t doing anyone any favors. Journalists don’t like doing them, interviewees run the risk of looking stupid, and viewers can’t separate random opinion from authority. All these contribute to the weakening of trust in media, especially local outlets.
A legion of young people desperate enough to invest in crypto are not going to save the world. These are debt ridden young consumers who face incredible economic uncertainty. The spectacular fall of ICOs in the second half of 2018 points to a systemic problem and unsustainability of crypto communities.
Crypto is not at the stage where a stock market graph will tell you how it’s doing in the marketplace. Why? Because there IS no marketplace. Crypto is not being utilized on a mass scale. There are no market dynamics to analyze, There are no benchmarks or market indicators. The only thing driving the value of crypto is what people are willing to pay for it. Crypto is pure speculation at this point.

Liberalism, by contrast, is about finding compromises in amongst complex ideas. That is why populist governments end up going to war. Or even more starkly, populist governments start wars, and liberal ones win them.
