D&D stopped caring about adapting ASOIAF after they got to the Red Wedding, they’ve said before that single event was the entire impetus of creating the show. The only goal was to deliver that and everything else has been just haphazardly making shit up to resolve the plot. They’ve resorted to cliches and contrivance, aiming to hit in the general direction that Martin has set down, and have continuously shown they don’t understand the point of the books as a deconstruction of fantasy and romanticism.

Seconds of screen time don’t matter in this series. Events that happened in quick succession in the books take a year of resolution, and whole plots are destroyed and altered.

I watch the show for the spectacle and because people within the zeitgeist will spoil the plot as if on reflex (one AT&T commercial comes to mind). But there’s just no comparison to the story of the books. There are adaptations of books that improve in the transition to new media, but this is not one of them. Tysha is not a whore.
