Neither did he. He said “listen to us, or there will likely be riots”. History demonstrates that, and it’s a good warning to give to anyone who doesn’t want more unrest.

Now as for the rest of your comment… have you considered, perhaps, that the main reason conversations that lead to mutual respect and understanding has been hard to come by because white society has a hard time knowing (or caring) when to shut up and listen? Because that’s generally the problem.

Like, we want to talk. Let’s talk. But you’re gonna need to stop monologing for a quick second so we can converse.

And if you steadfastly refuse to do that, it’s reasonable to assume that you really don’t want to talk, you just want to keep us quiet.
