“Thus says the Lord:
‘The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness;
when Israel sought for rest,
the Lord appeared to him from far away.
I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
Again I will build you, and you shall be built,
O virgin Israel!’”

Jeremiah 31:2–4

To those who are His children:

We are the people who will survive the sword and find grace in the wilderness. The sword that may be persecution, mockery, guilt, or suffering, the Lord will shield from us, or rather, He already has shielded it from us, for He has gone before us and fought on our behalf, the greatest victory the world has ever seen, in rising from the grave.
And whether the Lord appears to us near or far, His inescapable grace and love forever surround us. Today on Valentine’s Day, may the promise of his love and faithfulness bring a peace and joy unlike any other — a peace and joy that removes the desire for worldly validation and swells in us a love for our neighbors that can only stem from the security of our identity as His children.

Happy Valentine’s Day :)
