The arrogance-masquerading-as-stupidity of our leaders never ceases to amaze me—Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump or our (mostly) subhumans in Congress, it makes no difference.

There is no way that POTUS in Washington DC vs. POTUS in Florida vs. POTUS in Hawaii vs. POTUS in TX is appreciably different. I get that the scenery changes, but the President of the United States is getting top-flight accommodations and treatment wherever he/she goes with absolutely zero genuine interaction with the local surroundings because of security concerns. Meanwhile, the public opinion/expectations surrounding POTUS travel are so incredibly low. The average voter doesn’t blink an eye when she/he hears a POTUS racked up travel expenses in the seven and eight figures galavanting hither and yon for pleasure.

That means a POTUS who stayed mostly in the WH—let’s say an elaborate vacation once in 4 years, which is still an incredible luxury in the eyes of most Americans—would reap exceptional gains from the electorate at what personal expense?

Yet these narcissist can’t or won’t sublimate even their more extravagant wants for 4–8 years.

And why would they?

The partisan griping—demonstrated in technicolor on this thread—reliably exonerates anyone whose name is preceded by the right letter or pillories anyone whose name is preceded by the wrong letter regardless of actually culpability.

Obama’s travel was repugnant. Trump’s travel is repugnant. If you take issue with either statement, then you are a significant part of a serious problem i.e. allowing partisanship to overwhelm reality.

Leans to the left, but sees reason on both sides if you get beyond the leadership. Hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty are my pet peeves.
