Dear Subscriber,

We have announced few weeks back that a new line of business will be introduced at our https://aerotrips.com web portal. This goes beyond the Aeron roadmap. We would like to unveil more details, to explain our thinking and the new market niche we have identified. Going strong to extend the boundaries of Aeron ecosystem.

There are three licensed pilots in Aeron team. Throughout the years, our team members have been exposed to light aircraft purchases (either looking for the best buy on behalf of a flight school, or advising potential aircraft owners, or arranging maintenance and spare parts).

Existing specialized marketplaces share a long legacy, truly “old style”:

https://www.controller.com, https://www.avbuyer.com, https://www.aerotrader.com, https://euro.aircraft24.com, http://www.aso.com

We will strive to do that better. Not only a unified marketplace, featuring light aircraft classifieds (for pre-owned aircraft), but also maintenance services, spare parts, and assembly kits for aviation enthusiasts. The prototype was demonstrated in the last days of February.

There are more than 500 manufacturers and professional assemblers of light and ultra-light aircraft. Very substantial market, spread all over the world. Many aviation enthusiasts build such aircraft by themselves: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homebuilt_aircraft.

At the same time, there are few qualified manufacturers of core components — engines, avionics (navigation, radio communications etc) and aviation equipment (propellers, tyres etc). We aim to connect aircraft kit manufacturers with core component manufactures and professional assemblers, who can support the customer to put the project together, assemble custom aircraft and obtain all necessary documentation to pass the bureaucratic procedures and have the aircraft registered and airworthy. Typically such aircraft are licensed as Experimental or Light Sport aircraft, which still require some compliance proceedings.

This is a challenging task, but a huge and fragmented market, which we intend to unite.

We trust that we can significantly reduce the aircraft construction costs, to stimulate the market and attract new consumers now able to afford such a plane, with 30–50% savings. We aim to become the primary marketplace for light and ultra-light aircraft.

The team has been in touch with several European and American assembly kit manufacturers to feature their offers. There will be flexible configurations, self-assembly and pre-assembled kits with various core and auxiliary equipment options. With extensive promotion, we hope our portal will become the first choice for aviation enthusiasts to search for the kits and spares.

There is a fine utility for blockchain technology too!

We will further explore the ways to record transactions on blockchain. That would secure a higher resale value for the items and will allow the history of transactions to be verifiable. Format of the transactional records is being developed and will be released as open source.

We envisage Aeron (ARN) token to be integrated as an option to access premium listing for sellers at the marketplace, or pay reduced commissions, or gain membership for buyers.

With Kind Regards,

Aeron Team
