While I appreciate Sanders' record of voting with Democrats, it is a mistake to consider making him the torchbearer for Democrats. Sanders knows one thing--that our perceived weakness strengthens him. Hence, his continued attacks on Democrats as being “absolute failures.” If we, as Democrats, are “failures” we must bring in an outsider to set things aright --or so the reasoning goes.
What Sanders still doesn’t understand though is that those attacks can be used (and have been used) by Republicans in a general election to depress our own turnout. Already faced with gerrymandered districts, voter suppression, and other shenanigans, being barraged with repurposed negativity from the person at the top of the ticket is a roadblock we need not build ourselves.
Thank you gor your hard work, Tom. But, please, say “no” to Sanders.
Thank you,
Amy
