a bubble in time

poetry

Photo by Filip Zrnzević on Unsplash

There was a stoppage in time in that moment
one which the universe became just
a blue beat up soccer mom van with rust on its doors
nothing more outside, all contained within
hard downpouring rain that wiped out all else
the thought of problems, responsibilities and life
we had our own little universe for a timeless hour
Two stars in their own orbit of young love and fervent kisses
whispers and gazing into the bright glow of our own suns
“Can we stay forever?”

Then the rain stopped.
