Dermal Fillers for Lips & Eyes

What You Need to Know

--

As we grow older, we begin to show signs of aging and stress. I probably didn’t have to tell you that! Our muscles soften. Our skin loses elasticity. We start to develop fine lines and wrinkles.

Yet, thanks to various medical breakthroughs, certain treatments like fillers can slow and reduce the physical signs of aging. One of the most popular treatments is dermal fillers.

What exactly are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are gels made from hyaluronic acid, which has sugar-based molecules.

Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body, and along with collagen, it serves as an important part of your skin’s support structure or “matrix.”

Because hyaluronic acid attracts water molecules, it helps to keep your skin hydrated while also acting as a natural shock absorber and promoting the production of collagen.

The problem is, our skin ages and loses hyaluronic acid. It becomes loose, thin, and dehydrated. The result is folds and wrinkles around our noses and mouths.

Collagen injections were once the most common and popular way of counteracting these effects of aging, but aesthetic professionals have now started using dermal fillers with sterile, synthetic, non-animal based versions of hyaluronic acid.

These new fillers last longer than collagen, have fewer side effects, and are generally considered much safer!

What can dermal fillers do?

They replace the lost volume and bring back shape, firmness, and suppleness to sagging lips. They smooth wrinkles around your nose and mouth and shape and lift cheeks and other facial contours. They even reduce noticeable scars and abnormalities!

And unlike permanent fillers, which can cause problems, hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary. We can reverse the effects using a natural enzyme called Hyaluronidase.

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers vary in their viscosity, strength and longevity, and because we have a “palette” of options, we can achieve a natural, tailored result for each and every client.

Best of all, the results are instant for women of all ages!

Who should get dermal fillers?

Dermal filler treatments are ideal for people who genuinely want to enhance the way they look. Depending on who administers the treatment and the look you’re going for, the before and after can be drastic.

Although dermal fillers aren’t permanent, the effects do last quite awhile. That’s why we recommend that you be 100% certain about the treatment.

Consult with your aesthetic doctor until you’re both on the same page, and when in doubt, ask more questions!

The good news is that you can always reverse the effects if you aren’t happy.

Is a dermal filler right for me?

If you would like to restore the youthful contours of your face, replace lost volume, sculpt your cheeks, chin, and jawline, or enhance your lips, then dermal fillers are a great option for you.

There is little need for additional anaesthesia, and unlike collagen fillers, hyaluronic acid fillers don’t leave you with lumps and bumps — aka, “pillow face.”

A common concern is that the results will look unnatural or be “too much.” You will see instant, natural results, which typically last anywhere from 12 to 24 months.

We have been using dermal fillers with our clients for over 12 years now and have been amazed again and again at what an impact fillers can make! Your treatment will be soft and subtle while gently erasing years from your face and lifting and contouring in a beautiful and natural way.

We’re always happy to answer questions and point you in the right direction even if that means saying, “You don’t need dermal fillers!”
