I Love Rando, but…

Random Bad Photos or just Bad Photographers?

I discovered Rando from a friend over the holidays, and was instantly hooked. Last year I spent 365 days with 1 Second Everyday and was looking for a new photo/documentation app to keep me occupied at those random moments in the day.

Rando is an experimental photo exchange platform for people who like photography. A rando is an image that is taken by you and sent anonymously to somebody completely random.

Easy to use

I was addicted the first time I opened the app

Not much of a learning curve when it comes to using this app:

  1. Download it ANDROID or IOS
  2. When it asks for access to camera and location say yes
  3. Snap a photo
  4. What for a photo in return
  5. Rate the photo (optional but super fun)

The interface is so simple yet fun to use. I keep coming back to use the rating slider just to see the little smiley change.

Complaints

I wish Rando users took better photos.

Here you can see the Randos I have taken on the Left and the Randos I’ve received on the right. Im going to continue distributing interesting Randos and I’ll let you be the judge. Hope to see your (better) Rando’s soon.

The good, the bad, and the well… really bad.
