Most of the job portals are facing growth issues, including LinkedIn, as fewer companies are recruiting today given the current economic uncertainty. New entrants are emerging that are targeting different segments including Dubizzle (focusing on lower-level jobs), while larger aggregators are also gaining market share (e.g. Indeed). Bayt are still able to maintain it’s leadership position at the moment, although I’m not sure how long that will hold for.
The problem with jobsites today is that they do little to curate the filtering experience for the employer, and so employers have to go through hundreds of CVs to filter and identify the right candidates. Recruiters are often too expensive, and I believe there’ll be new AI technology companies that will solve for this issue in the future. In fact, Gradberry (now named Tara), a Dubai-based company that has now moved to the Valley and was part of YC last year are trying to solve that problem for the technology segment of the job market.
