A complete set of teeth has always been valuable, either for function or beauty. Throughout the ages, technologies and research have been dedicated to the pursuit of teeth replacementsand this pursuit eventually led to the invention of various prosthetics.

Dental implants are one of the most recent inventions on teeth prosthetics, something that we at ADS specialize in. Having been an oral health care provider since 2011, we have a team of dentists who are experienced and knowledgeable. They are ready to provide the best for you and your family, at the best price possible. Let us look at how these came to be in order to make the lives of so many people so much better.

We can trace its past all the way back to ancient history in China, some 2,000 years B.C. The earliest version recorded wasteeth replacements made out of bamboo pegs. A thousand years later in 1,000 B.C., Egyptians would use metal as teeth replacements. These were found in the body of a king who had a peg made out of copper hammered into his jawbone. Experts cannot agree though if the peg was put in before or after his death.

A few hundred years later in 300 B.C., archeologists in France would uncover a Celtic grave of an individual who had an iron tooth hammered in. This is believed to have been done after death.

Other materials that were used in ancient history were teeth from people and animals. This method is not ideal because of possible rejection and infection from the implants. Throughout ancient history, the use of even more materials has been uncovered, including rare gems, seashells, and ancient skulls.

It would be hundreds of years later that any real headway would be made. Real science and technology for the dental implants would give rise to newer and better materials and methods, some of which modern technology still continues to borrow from.

Ancient history alone tells us how much people wanted to have a complete set of teeth, even going as far as to use the most interesting materials and procedures, especially for the time.
