WHAT DIFFERENTIATES AFFYN’S NEXUS WORLD FROM THE REST

Affyn is a Singapore-based company building a blockchain-powered Metaverse project with a free to play, Play-to-Earn mobile game with integrated geolocation where the virtual and real world converge. Making use of geolocation technology and AR mechanics, Affyn incorporates the fun element of gaming with blockchain technology such as the utility of NFTs.

During the recent AMAs, there have been quite a number of questions centered around the NEXUS World and game mechanics. In lieu of this, we want to highlight what differentiates us from other Play-to-Earn blockchain-powered games out there.

OBJECTIVE

Our vision for Affyn is to bring people closer together and remind the world that what truly matters in life, are family and friends. With that in mind, our game mechanics are geared toward achieving that vision. We’re harnessing technology to bring people together physically by creating events that are centered on shared experiences.

Our metaverse is called NEXUS — Next Evolution eXperimental User Simulation. NEXUS is a mobile Metaverse with a digital layer that is mapped to the real world where users can explore, play, and participate in activities based on their geolocation.

FREE-TO-PLAY

Barrier-to-entry is low. We are aiming for mass adoption of our game to achieve our vision for Affyn.

How low, you might ask. It’s as simple as downloading an app from the App Store, registering an account, and playing!

We believe that to onboard as many people as possible, the sign-up process needs to be easy. We don’t need to change consumer behavior; we just need to make our game accessible.

Most of the current Play-to-Earn games are set up such that players need to have at least a working knowledge of cryptocurrency. They need to learn how to open a crypto wallet and account, figure out how to buy the relevant cryptocurrency using fiat, then convert the cryptocurrency to in-game assets, and all this before even experiencing the game. This is a significant barrier for non-crypto users to overcome, and so mass adoption and buy-in from mainstream gamers remains a distant reality.

Affyn is disrupting the Play-to-Earn space by allowing players to start playing and earning without any initial fee. This means that just about anyone and everyone can sign up and play without owning a digital wallet or having prior knowledge of crypto. Hence, with a barrier-to-entry this low, everyone has access to the NEXUS World, where we want to help create stronger, more meaningful connections between people.

MEET ONLINE AND OFFLINE

Our metaverse is anchored in geolocation technology and AR mechanics. The reason for this is simple: we want people to meet physically, not just virtually.

A big criticism of Play-to-Earn blockchain games is that these virtual worlds serve to reduce human interaction even more, as players delve deeper and deeper into them. We want to change that.

Our game deploys mobile integrated geolocation technology where the virtual and real world converge. Affyn maps the Earth so the Land we have in-game is finite. Mobile capabilities enable us to move around physically and virtually at once. What we are doing is using technology to bring people together not just virtually, but also physically. This means enjoyment of the virtual metaverse, not apart from, but WITH family and friends in the real world.

SHARED EXPERIENCES

What is a game even, without shared experiences amongst players?

Affyn is created to build connections, be it with people you know or even complete strangers.

In NEXUS, you can create unlimited shared experiences via game events, with your buddies, or even through Land you’ve purchased. The most attractive rewards in the game require users to initiate get-togethers with their friends and family, and even their Buddies!

One example of such an event in NEXUS is The Ultimate Raid.

Every season, the best players in the leadership board worldwide will be invited to a centralized location to take part in the ultimate raid. The ultimate raid features the toughest monster of the year which requires everyone’s effort to defeat within a specific amount of time. If players fail to defeat it in time, they will still earn FYN tokens. But if they manage to defeat it, they will be rewarded with unique non-fungible token (NFT) assets that are attainable only via ultimate raids. These items give access to events, campaigns, items or even trips that are exclusively accessible to these holders.

The ultimate raid will require players to accumulate as much damage done throughout the season to be considered for this event. Only the top few players who dealt the highest damage during the season will be invited for The Ultimate Raid. All this means more time spent meeting up with not just your Buddies but also your friends and family.

This is just one of the events we have in mind, but one that truly encompasses what Affyn is about. Structured gameplay that allows people to meet up physically, spend time with friends and family, and have the chance to meet like-minded players from all over the world.
