Introducing Day Zero
Today, we’re launching Day Zero, a project we’ve been excited to unveil for a few months. It’s a series of conversations with builders that is tactical, specific, and relevant to Pre-Seed stage founders trying to get their startups to traction.
Why?
Five years ago, we started Afore Capital with a simple goal: exclusively partner with founders at the pre-traction stage — to help them build meaningful products and take them to market. In doing so, we wanted to build a firm that was recognized not only for the capital we provide but also the support and services that lay the groundwork — from day zero — to get to eventual traction.
While starting a company has never been easier, finding product-market fit in a crowded world of new products couldn’t be harder. Iterating on an effective go-to-market motion is still one of the hardest yet one of the single most important things to do at the Pre-Seed stage. Quite counterintuitively, going from $0 to $1M in revenue might be much harder than going from $1B to $2B in revenue for many companies! At Afore, we specialize in that zero-to-1 journey.
There’s plenty of generic advice available to founders, but the most impactful is the tactical, specific, and relevant advice for their stage. Should I hire an account executive at the Pre-Seed stage, or should I get a sales advisor on the cap table? Should I keep building the product, or start selling what I have built? What are good indicators of product-market fit in my vertical? These are a few of the many questions that other founders and day-zero builders with lived experiences can answer.
This is why we built Day Zero, a space to curate conversations with founder-operators designed to help you find traction, faster.
How does it work?
A founder’s attention is precious in today’s world. We hope to win that attention by sharing the stories that other prolific founders live through in the early days of their companies. For founders, by founders. No fluff.
