The End of the Road

This is beautiful. Back then black singers used to really SING. Then they seemed to deliberately forgo their God (or genetically) given gift. Or it might have been a reaction to social injustice directed to them. Anyway, they used to sing beautifully to their women, which took an ugly turn in the thriving hip hop (which can hardly be called singing) decade or so that followed, where the women came out as trash, to say the least. I remember Harry Belafonte (I hope I spelled it correctly) expressing his regret about the young generation destroying what the generation of black singers' had accomplished on the musical arena before them. I notice a healthier comeback of black music today. I must say it was no different for white music — what they did to Britney Spears was atrocious, I don’t know how this girl can keep her sanity. She has one of the best and most beautiful voices. But I guess when money starts talking, the singing stops…

P.S. How are you?
