But that doesn’t work when all the employers around you are offering the same low wages that people can’t get by on. When all I’m offered is the same type of rotting fruit from multiple sellers I either eat one’s rotten fruit or starve.

There isn’t as much movement in the real world as you lead on to. Sometimes the right training isn’t available to everyone to improve their skills. Maybe companies need to meet the worker where they are at and work from there instead of being on such a high pedestal that no one can work for them.
