No tea and spoon for me…

Teacup and stirring spoon used in hypnotizing Chris in the movie “Get Out”

Oh lord! I’ve been thinking!

Now, I get it!

I’ve been labeled as “difficult” more times than I care to remember.

Probably will be seen as difficult for even writing this.

But here’s the thing I have noticed:

Whenever I am creating boundaries to protect myself, I am difficult.

Whenever I say “No”, I am difficult.

Whenever I speak my truth, I am difficult.

Whenever I refuse to be used and walked on, I am difficult.

Whenever I have the audacity to question the rules of the game, I am difficult.

Whenever I refuse to be placed in an atmosphere of servitude in an unhealthy manner, I am difficult.

Whenever I speak out loud on things others like myself are thinking, I am difficult.

Whenever I simply ask the question, ‘why?’

…but you?

You continue to smile and stir your tea, play your bingo games, drink your milk, hang your trophies, and try to place me (& those like me) in the sunken place.

Nope! If being difficult, keeps me alive with some semblance of humanity, I’ll be that.
