Making a Revolution in the education system.

Lizeth,

I enjoyed reading your idea of making changes in the educational system. I must agree that times have changed and the system needs to adapt to the changes. Although there are effective, old-school habits and strategies, it is important to have the freedom and ability to try new things. After all, students will grow up and choose their careers and hopefully, we as teachers will have participated and have been part of the choices they make and the people they have become. I’d like to share that this is one of the reasons why I want to become a teacher, to make a difference and inspire my students.

I also agree that allowing students to take the role of the teacher allows students to grow in many aspects. They get to learn to respect each other and allows students to get to know each other more. These are great qualities to teach our students at an early age.

Lastly, I am still intrigued into trying home visits. Although I have not had the opportunity to do it. It is something I do look forward to as an experiment and as a chance to get to know my students a little more deeply than just in the classroom.
