GENECHIP’S LIFEGEN TECHNOLOGIES

This genechip is patented for LifeGen Technologies. LifeGen Technologies is a genomics company that focuses on gene expression profiling as it relates to the aging process.

Our mission at LifeGen Technologies is to discover the genetic basis of the aging process with the goal of increasing the healthy life span of humans and animals.

LifeGen Technologies, LLC is a Madison, Wisconsin-based genomics company that is focusing on gene expression analysis as it relates to the aging process of humans and animals. LifeGen’s pioneering research has resulted in several pending patents, and on-going research is expected to yield additional, important intellectual property. Accordingly, LifeGen Technologies is strategically positioned to serve as a valuable partner to other companies involved in drug development and in animal and human nutraceuticals.

Science

The science of LifeGen Technologies utilizes DNA microarrays to identify changes in gene expression that are associated with the aging process and how these changes are opposed by caloric restriction (CR). The same process is being used by LifeGen scientists to screen for compounds that have the ability to mimic the transcriptional activity of CR.

This research will permit LifeGen to partner with companies to develop pharmaceutical and nutraceutical compounds to retard aging. LifeGen has also constructed an extensive, proprietary gene expression database on aging, which provides vital information to life sciences companies. Drs. Weindruch’s and Prolla’s knowledge, experience, and network of contacts in the gerontology, genetics and biotechnology industries provide LifeGen with the resources to be a leader in the field of aging genomics.
