THE VERONESE PROJECT
It was the “Veronese” project that launched the late-2021 trip to LJU. Otherwise known as “Veronese as Artist-scholar,” this project had begun with a brief sketch of the silence inhabiting the interior of The Wedding at Cana, Veronese great and somewhat scandalous painting made for the refectory of the Benedictine monastery at San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice, in 1562–1563 or so.
