Do Women Really Want Equality?

I love the idea of equality. I love that I can vote. I love that I can have a bank account or get a loan. I love that I’m not expected to make someone else’s dinner or clean the house all the time. I love my degree, the degree my grandmother so desperately wanted but could not get because she grew up in a time when equality was non-existent.

I love my husband and son. I will do anything I can to make sure that they live just as long and as happy as I do. So, even though I could relax and let the wonderful guys in my life do it all, I won’t. I care deeply about them.

And when I think about the poor women in the middle east who have the equality of a dog, I remind myself that we must always be proactive if we don’t want to end up like that.
