Important Information Regarding Coinbase Account Restrictions

If you’re running into issues with your Coinbase account, there are some steps you can take to resolve the problem and get your account back in good standing. However, if the issue persists, you may be dealing with account restrictions that are beyond your control and that will require help from an outside party to resolve. These account restrictions may prevent you from accessing your funds or using certain features of the platform. Here’s what you need to know about Coinbase account restrictions and how to avoid them altogether in the future.

If you are experiencing Account restriction
We regret to inform you that your account has been restricted from using our service. Restricted accounts are subject to review, and if allowed will be reactivated within a couple days. This action is part of an on-going review process that we use to protect against fraud and potentially fraudulent activity. During your account restriction, you will be unable to access your Coinbase account in any way and are not able to withdraw funds.

What does the email from Coinbase mean?
As some of you may have recently noticed, we sent out an email to select customers regarding an issue with your Coinbase account. If you received one of these emails, it means that your account is currently restricted and you will not be able to send or receive BTC from your Coinbase account until all of our concerns have been resolved.

Why is my Verification Status Important?

What happens if my status is pending verification?
If your status is pending verification, that means your account has been flagged for additional review. Rest assured we are diligently working to verify your account as quickly as possible. If you need to access funds immediately or if you’ve had a trade rejected during a deposit, please submit a support ticket and we’ll be happy to assist you.

How long will I have to wait until I am verified?
Please allow up to 48 hours for your request to be reviewed. If you do not receive a response within 48 hours, please contact us again with your ticket number, phone number and any details you may have forgotten to include in your first submission. We will respond as soon as possible and make every effort to keep you updated on a daily basis about your pending account status. Sometimes it’s necessary for additional information to be collected before we can verify accounts; we appreciate your patience during these instances.
