A Poem For Hamid Reza Rouhi

I sing of Hamid Reza Rouhi, a soul with such grace.

A university student, a modeling career to chase.

But in Tehran, his life was cut short, too soon.

By the Regime’s lies, their bullets sing of only doom.

At his funeral, the people rose with a cry,

“For every one you kill, a thousand will rise!”

A beautiful soul, inside and out he shined.

Reminding the Regime of all they’re not, of what is within each soul-the Divine.

They fear such beauty, it threatens their power.

So they kill and suppress, in this dark hour.

But the people will not be silenced, they sing of his light.

For every life taken, their voices will unite.

I sing of Hamid’s beauty, it will never fade.

In the hearts of the people, it will always be displayed.

For he was a beautiful soul, and his memory will live on.

Sung by our people, from dusk until dawn.
