Why I Love Coming Up with New Ideas
It gives me a sense of purpose.
As I continue to absorb as much knowledge as I can, I look forward to each new idea that pops into my head.
It really is an exciting process.
I sit at home in the evening reading a variety of books (one at a time) and enjoying the peace and quiet.
As my subconscious compartmentalizes it all, I go about my night doing other things and eventually going to bed.
Sooner rather than later, I am hit with inspiration, almost an epiphany! An idea pops into my head randomly and then I start to piece together something that might become a business idea.
I love the process of stumbling upon an idea, hashing it out, determining if there is any value in it, and running it by other people for some feedback.
I enjoy the process itself, the process of creation.
These random, new ideas that start rolling in usually give me a sense of purpose for the day. I find time in between work and commutes to piece a loose business plan together and I fantasize about it actually coming true.
Now whether or not any of these ideas come to fruition is not my point here in this post. Rather, the work itself is rewarding. I somehow feel more accomplished at the end of the day after having gone to my day job and worked on a side project.
It feels like I have a mission, some higher calling outside of my job. And that is a great feeling to walk around with.
But honestly this is a relatively new experience for me.
I am convinced it is all because of reading.
Investing my time and money into books seems to be rewarding me in ways I wasn’t expecting — namely, feeling more creative.
If there’s one piece of wisdom here, it’s this:
read quality books as much as possible and let your mind do the rest.
